Honda Launches 2026 Honda City and New ZR-V SUV in India

Honda Cars India has officially expanded its portfolio with the launch of the updated 2026 Honda City and the debut of the all-new Honda ZR-V in the Indian market.

The new launches aim to strengthen Honda’s position in both the premium sedan and SUV segments.

The 2026 Honda City facelift receives a refreshed exterior design featuring revised LED headlamps, a redesigned grille, updated bumpers and new alloy wheels. Honda has also added more premium equipment and technology upgrades to keep the sedan competitive against rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia.

Inside the cabin, the updated 2026 Honda City now offers a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, upgraded connectivity features and enhanced ADAS technology. Honda continues to offer both the standard 1.5-litre, petrol engine producing 121 hp and 1.5-litre strong-hybrid e:HEV producing 126 hp. The standard petrol engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT whereas, the strong-hybrid e:HEV version comes with e-CVT.

Prices for the new Honda City facelift start from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end hybrid variant is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Alongside the City facelift, Honda has also revealed the new Honda ZR-V hybrid SUV for India. Positioned above the Honda Elevate, the ZR-V will serve as Honda’s new flagship SUV and will arrive in India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model.

The Honda ZR-V features a premium crossover design with sharp LED lighting, a large front grille, functional air vents in the front bumper. At the rear, you will notice U-shaped LED tail lamps, roof mounted spoiler, rear wiper and washer, dual exhaust outlets integrated in rear bumper along with silver trim surrounding them.

Inside the new Honda ZR-V SUV, you will see a 9-inch infotainment system that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The SUV also features 12-speaker Bose sound system. Panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting are among the many features of the tech-focused interior. The all-new Honda ZR-V SUV has an eight-way powered driver’s seat and four-way powered co-driver’s seat. The boot space can be expanded up to 1,313 litres after the second row is folded.

Talking about the safety, the all-new Honda ZR-V SUV is equipped with eight airbags, advanced driver assistance system and 360-degree camera.

Powering the ZR-V is a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid e:HEV powertrain paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The SUV produces around 184 hp and 315 Nm while also delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of nearly 22.8 kmpl. Honda has opened bookings for the ZR-V, with deliveries expected to begin from July 2026. The SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it against premium SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail.
