MG Majestor Launched in India at Rs 40.99 Lakh

The all-new MG Majestor has finally been launched in India, marking MG’s entry into the premium full-size D+ SUV segment with a strong focus on luxury, rugged styling, and off-road capability.

MG Majestor was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo and has now entered the market as MG’s new flagship ICE SUV. With its massive dimensions, aggressive front-end styling, and feature-packed interior, the SUV directly targets rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Isuzu MU-X.

Positioned above the Gloster in MG’s lineup, the Majestor has been introduced at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹40.99 lakh for the Savvy 4×2 automatic variant, while the fully-loaded 4×4 automatic version is priced at Rs 44.99 lakh.

Visually, the MG Majestor adopts a far more muscular and premium design language compared to the Gloster. The front fascia gets a huge gloss-black grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, silver skid plates, and a rugged bumper design. Along the sides, the SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and gets black body cladding with integrated side steps that further enhance its imposing road presence. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and dual exhaust-style elements give the SUV a modern premium appearance.

Inside the cabin, the MG Majestor focuses heavily on luxury and comfort. The dashboard features dual large digital displays for infotainment and instrumentation, while the interior receives soft-touch materials, leatherette upholstery, and ambient lighting with 64 colour options. MG is offering the SUV in both six-seater and seven-seater configurations, with captain seats available for second-row passengers in the 6-seat version.

Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and massaging front seats, powered front seats with memory function, a premium 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless phone chargers, powered tailgate, 3-zone climate control, and a 220V power outlet for rear passengers. The SUV also gets connected car technology and a large infotainment setup aimed at enhancing the premium ownership experience.

On the safety front, MG Majestor is equipped with six airbags as standard along with Level 2 ADAS features. The SUV also includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, electronic parking brake, hill hold assist, and hill descent control.

Powering the MG Majestor is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing around 213 bhp and 478.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and buyers can choose between rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive layouts.

MG has also equipped the SUV with multiple terrain modes for off-road driving, while reports mention the presence of locking differentials and advanced traction systems to improve rough-terrain capability. Triple Differential Lock — front, rear and centre — helps distribute power to the wheels with maximum traction, allowing the SUV to send torque to the front axle, rear axle or split it evenly between both axles when driving through challenging terrain or when the vehicle gets stuck. A water wading capacity of 810 mm makes it one of the most capable SUVs in its class.

Dimensionally, the Majestor is among the biggest SUVs in its class. It measures over five metres in length with a wheelbase close to 2950 mm, helping provide a spacious three-row cabin experience. MG claims the SUV is designed to combine highway comfort with serious all-terrain capability, making it suitable for both urban luxury buyers and adventure-focused families.

Bookings for the SUV are already open through MG dealerships and the official MG Motor India website with a booking amount of Rs 41,000. Early customers are also expected to receive special ownership benefits including extended warranty and roadside assistance packages.
