Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit Sets New Nürburgring EV Record

The Manthey-specced Porsche Taycan Turbo GT set a new Nürburgring lap record of 6:55.533, surpassing the previously crowned Yangwang U9 Xtreme by around four seconds at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Besides finishing around four seconds quicker than the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Manthey Kit also shattered its own previous Nürburgring record by nearly 12 seconds, which was set in October 2023. That earlier benchmark was achieved by the standard Porsche Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach Package.

When the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit clocked record-breaking lap time of 6:55.533, Porsche test driver Lars Kern was behind the steering wheel. Sharing his experience, Kern said, “On the Nordschleife, you can feel how much more stability and confidence the car offers in fast sections and when braking. Thanks to the significantly enhanced aerodynamics, tyres with even greater performance, and increased overboost power available at the touch of a button, we were able to beat our previous best times.” During the Nürburgring lap run in October 2023, it was again Lars Kern behind the wheel of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach Package at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is the first Porsche EV to get Manthey Kit. It not only adds aesthetic value to the car but the Manthey Kit introduces extensive aerodynamic and suspension modifications on the Taycan Turbo GT. Because of the Manthey Kit:

• Downforce of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has increased from 95 kg to 310 kg at 200 kmph

• And at a top speed of 310 kmph, the Manthey-specced Porsche Taycan Turbo GT produces 740kg of total downforce

• Manthey Kit allows powertrain optimisations in the Taycan Turbo GT that produces peak power of 816 hp and 1,270 Nm of torque

• Porsche Taycan Turbo GT also receives an upgraded 10-second Attack Mode feature, with the temporary power boost increasing from 161 bhp to 174 bhp. This allows the EV to deliver even sharper acceleration on long straights and while exiting high-speed corners.

The new Manthey Kit introduces extensive aerodynamic and suspension upgrades to the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, transforming the EV into an even more track-focused machine. Porsche has equipped the Taycan Turbo GT with an all-new rear wing featuring larger end plates, a newly developed front diffuser with low- and high-downforce settings, and a redesigned high-performance rear diffuser with extended fins. The package also includes larger underbody air dams and carbon aerodisc rear wheel covers to further enhance aerodynamic efficiency and stability at high speeds.

Beyond the aerodynamic revisions, Porsche has specifically tuned the spring and damper controls of the Turbo GT’s electromechanical suspension setup along with the all-wheel-drive system, steering and rear axle differential for aggressive track use. The Taycan Turbo GT also rides on 21-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels with lightweight titanium wheel bolts, wrapped in specially developed Pirelli P Zero R tyres. Buyers can additionally opt for track-focused Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber for enhanced grip and circuit performance.
